However, the 2020 B.E.T. Experience has been postponed, until 2021. The B.E.T. Awards will move forward with its 2020 edition this year, albeit virtually. Celebrating the network’s 40th anniversary, and the Awards’ 20 years on the air, top stars in black entertainment, sports and philanthropy will appear on Sunday, June 28 via “innovative techniques and artist-generated content,” B.E.T. revealed on May 20.

The B.E.T. Awards are a seminal event—the biggest celebration of Black culture, Black accomplishment, Black excellence, and Black potential,” Scott Mills, President of B.E.T., said in a statement. “Our community, and the many millions who love the Black culture, look to the B.E.T. Awards for signature moments of enrichment, entertainment and empowerment. Recognizing the unique role the B.E.T. Awards plays for so many, and the challenging times we find ourselves in, we know it was more important than ever to deliver the B.E.T. Awards in 2020.”

“At B.E.T., we place the health and safety of attendees, staff, vendors, and partners our first priority, which is why the biggest night in black entertainment will go on implementing this innovative production direction,“ Connie Orlando, E.V.P. Specials, Music Programming & Music Strategy at B.E.T., added in a statement. “For the past twenty years, The B.E.T. Awards have paid homage to all things now and relevant. Despite the challenges of today, we will deliver a show filled with larger than life, inspiring, empowering and entertaining moments, which have shown the magic of our culture for over two decades.”

All purchases of V.I.P. Packages for the now-canceled B.E.T. Experience will be refunded and you can find more information at BET.com/Experience. The 2020 B.E.T. Awards will take place on Sunday, June 28 at 8 p.m. E.T. Keep an eye out for the list of nominations to be announced later!
